In Chicago, there isn’t many options for you to sell your gently preowned clothes, especially here on the north side. Traditional consignment shops in the brick and mortar world only give you about 90 days and visibility to who shops at their store.
Good Buy Darling is different. Instead of 90 days, we give your items a 9 month window to sell. Instead of relying on foot traffic, the entire internet is our customer. With over 7 years on ebay and poshmark, thousands of sales in our portfolio, we know a thing or two about the online market.
Good Buy Darling also has a mission beyond clothing. In a few years time, we hope to help employ and/or support more special needs families. As a mom to a disabled teen with autism and epilepsy, I have grown this business slowly while also homeschooling our son (former Chicago teacher here). Teaching our son the business is a training ground for the future mission. He helps with the shipping and post office drops 6 days a week, and it’s part of his vocational training. We hope to help the most underserved population in our community with meaningful work. It’s a process for sure, but it’s part of our bigger plan for the business. Every sale gets us closer to the end goals: slowing the fashion cycle while serving others.
The future: Good Buy Darling: Good Buys for a GOOD CAUSE.
